Alma Lorraine Thompkins 94, gained her wings, December 19 2021 at Northshore Heights Assisted Living & Memory Care Knoxville TN.
Alma journey began April 4,1927 in Byington, Tennessee to the late Newt and Lula
Alma retired from Y-12 Martin Marietta (Oak Ridge, TN) she enjoyed cooking, yard work, playing Bingo and going to the Casino. She was a faithful member of True Light Missionary Baptist Church ( Knoxville TN).
In addition to her parents Alma was preceded in death by husband, Theo Thompkins; sons, William “Buster” Chesney, David Thompkins; daughter, Elaine Thompkins; brothers, James Eddie Walker, Clarence Cash; sisters, Nancy Louise “N.L” Hardin, Dorothy Geneva Harris; grandson, Brandon Chesney; granddaughter, Cassandra Walker.
She leaves to cherish her memories, daughters, Loretha “Sue” Walker, Patricia “Pat” Harris; sons, Newt Chesney, all of Knoxville, TN, Howard Thompkins, Atlanta GA; sister, Almeta Chesney, Knoxville, TN; sisters-in-law, Mildred Walker, Knoxville TN, Fannie Anderson, Dayton OH; daughter-in-law, Nola Jeanette Chesney, Knoxville, TN; very special and devoted granddaughter and Caregiver, Gail Chesney; grandkids, David Chesney, Candace Davis, LaShaunda Chesney, Antwan Withrow, Anthony Cherry, Javoy Brown, all of Knoxville TN, Jillian Thompson, Nashville, TN, DeAndrea Davis, Atlanta, GA; host of grand, great grand and great great great grandkids; host of nieces and nephews; very special devoted niece, LulaBell Chesney Young, very special and close friends, Mary Hill and Wilie Wade.
