ALMA RUTH BIGBY
Alma Ruth Bigby, the first of two daughters born to Frances Trent Jackson, March 19, 1939 in Knoxville, Tennessee. She entered eternal rest, Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Island Home Health Care after a brief illness.
Alma was a graduate of Austin High School class of 1957. Following graduation she married Calvin L. Bigby, and they were married for 49 years. She was a loyal member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church.
Retired from Robertshaw Industry after 30 years of service.
Preceded in death by husband, mother, and aunts, Marie and Della.
Alma Ruth will be remembered by sister, Mary Frances; nephews, Troy (Sonya) Etheridge and Cornell (Darlene) Wright; cousin, Jeffrey Minor; great nephew, Malic Etheridge, great niece, Darriell Wright; great great nephew, Brandon and great great niece, Khamielle; the Bigby and Lattimore families; several close friends to include, “her” Hildrith Gillespie, Robert Wilson, Gary and Kathy Tate, Geraline Scott, Emma Jordan, Earline Conner, Bonita Gillespie, Jackie Marshall, Debbie Reese, Frances Hall, Mattie J. Sharp, Beal and Peggy Bourne, John “Binky” Bourne, other relatives and friends.
Family will receive friends, 5:00-6:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Mount Calvary Baptist Church; funeral services, 6:00 p.m., Rev. Leroy Franklin, Officiating.
