Obituary for Annetta Maurice Harris Hendricks
Hendricks, Annetta Maurice Harris, 68 Years Old, Born November 7,1953, gained her Heavenly Wings early Monday morning, December 6, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving husband and daughter. Graduate of Austin-East High School Class of 1973 and Droughns Business College. A faithful and active member of Unity of Praize Church of God until her passing. Former member of the Cherry Street Church of God where she served as church secretary for many years. She was also a member of the Gospel Chorus choir, Usher Board, Missionary, and Pastors Aid Committee. She had a sweet spirit and loved helping others. She was a professional shopper spoiled by her husband and received packages daily. Even before her first Amazon purchase, she was known by first name at QVC shopping network. She loved nice cars, clothes, jewelry, and purses. Candy and lemon custard ice cream was her favorite and she got it in bulk. She enjoyed all kinds of music, game shows, fine dining, and talking on the phone with her mother, siblings and friends. She had a fairytale love with her husband, was best friends with her daughter and had a special bond with her grandchildren. She worked 25 years at Oak Ridge National Laboratory as an executive secretary where she retired in 2012.
Proceeded in death by Father, Walter Andrew Harris, Sr., Brother, Walter Harris, Jr. Sister, Helen (Celestine) Minor. Left to cherish her memories, Husband of 47 years out of the 53 years together, her middle school sweetheart, Deacon Alfred Hendricks. Loving devoted daughter and caregiver Stephanie Michelle Hendricks (Sonny Harrison), Two grandchildren, Quinten Alfred and Anasia Janee’ Layden, who called her Nanny all of Harker Heights, TX. Mother Pauline Rogers Harris. Devoted son-in-law, Byron Layden of Harker Heights, TX. Brothers, Phil (Frankie) Harris of Dayton OH. Victor (Ernestine) Harris, Sisters, Victoria Rodgers, Pamela (Roderick) Woodfin, Brother-In-Laws, Eugene Minor, Rev. Dr. Bethel (Rev. Dr. Mary) Hendricks of Chattanooga, TN. Sisters-in-laws, Lela Harris, Jessie (Rev. Herman) Robinson of Sandusky, OH. and Linda Clark. Devoted nieces Telisia Batts and Theresa Burris-McMahan who were also heavenly sent caregivers. Godchildren, Ericka Clark Blair and Kayla Williams. Devoted Friends Gregory (Darlene) Freeman and Vincent (Betty) Martin of Stone Mountain, GA. and the Unity of Praize Church of God Church Family, A host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special thanks to Covenant Health Hospice.
Family will receive friends, Monday, December 13, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon at Lennon-Seney United Methodist Church, 2084 Dandridge Ave. with the Celebration of Life to immediately follow. Face coverings and social distancing required. Eulogist, Rev. Dr. Bethel Boyd Hendricks, Jr. assisted by other ministers. Interment to follow at New Gray Cemetery. Flowers may be delivered to Jarnigan & Son Funeral Mortuary at 2823 Martin Luther King Avenue, Knoxville, TN.

Extending my condolences to Victor and Victoria in the loss of their sister. I walked this same path a couple of years ago when I lost my “ONLY” sister but God gave me strength to get thru this loss that left such a “VOID”. My love to you all.
