ANNETTE D. BATTLE
KNOXVILLE- Annette D. Battle, 84 departed this life, August 28, 2022, at Vanderbilt Medical Center surrounded by family.
Preceded in death by parents Murrell and Edith Marie Kelso; daughter, Sandra Kelso; siblings: Marshall, Edith “Honey,” Katherine, Mary, Bud, Herbert, and Robert Kelso; nephews, Robert Kelso Jr. and John W. Johnson Jr; nieces, Betsy Kelso Spaulding, Shirley Johnson, and Carolyn Lewis Davis.
Survived by husband of 46 years Willie Battle; son, Anthony Thompson; stepsons,
Willie III, Keith, and Tremayne; grandchildren, Tosha (Jeffery) Reed, Christopher (Sheila) Kelso; and Sarhonda Thompson, Kiara Battle , Keyona Battle, a host of great-grandchildren to include, Tiaeshia (Fattie) and Dayshawn Kelso; a host of devoted nieces and nephews that she loved dearly; many friends including her “Bingo Buddies”; devoted in-laws (Robert, Lewis, Shirley, David) and many other relatives.
Family will receive friends, 11:00 a.m.- 12:00 noon, Saturday, September 3, 2022; funeral service, 12:00 noon at McDonald Church of Christ, 3800 McDonald Rd, Knoxville, TN 37914, Pastor Benny Heckler/Reverend Meek officiating.
Interment: Mount Olive Cemetery, Berry Road Knoxville, Tennessee 37920

It has been my honor to have been blessed to known you and growing up playing in your backyard for over 50yrs. You have been someone who I could talk to and someone who treated me as family and knew my mother who was a very dear friend to you. You have been the mother and grandmother to 3 outstanding grandchildren who have lost a very devote grandmother. Ann I will miss you, it was a long hard battle with a healing journey only you could have concur til the end and you did. My Condolence to the family they have lost a Monarch, but you have reach your ultimate resting place with Jesus, Rest Easy Ann you will be truly missed
