Obituary for Christine Howard

Our beloved has transitioned to her heavenly home; the earthly journey for CHRISTINE D’NESE HOWARD is now complete. She departed this life April 10, 2023, at the UT Medical Center. Christine was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. One of three daughters born to A. Wayne and Patricia Howard on January 21, 1988, in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Christine attended Knox County public schools and was a proud graduate of the Austin East High School Class of 2006. Christine united with St. John Baptist Church at an early age under the pastorate of Rev. Elbert Booker.

“TT” as she was fondly called by her nieces and cousins whom she greatly loved. She enjoyed having sleepovers with her nieces and cousins as well as they looked forward being with her.

Preceded in death by her Mother, Patricia “Angel” Thompson Howard; maternal Grandparents, Mary Anne Funches and Tommy Thompson Sr.; paternal Grandparents, Margaret and James Howard; Aunt, Treese Thompson; Uncle Anthony “Tony” Howard; brother-in-law, William Jones; cousins Markedra “Kee” Houston and Anthony Thompson, Jr.;

Christine’s memory will be cherished by her father, Reverend Arthur Wayne Howard; sisters, Crystal Howard Jones and Christy (Mario) Howard; nieces, Andaja Ware, Wilnia Jones, Wilkira Jones and Angel Jennie Cornelius; aunts, Angela Elder, Jacquelyn Carter and Kelly Howard; uncles, James (Julia) Howard, Stephen (Colleen) Howard, Anthony Thompson, Tommy (Karen) Thompson Jr., Michael Thompson Sr. and Thomas Elder Jr.; a host of cousins and other family members to include, special cousins Tiffany (JD) Chandler, LaToya (Lil Buddy) Elder, special great aunt Tami (Chris) Hinton, devoted friends: Mary Gadison, Scquira Lundy, Wayverly Scott, Tyesha Robinson, Jonathan Netherland and the Austin East High Class of 2006.

Family will receive friends Friday April 21, 2023 from 10 to 11am at Mt Calvary Baptist Church, 1807 Dandridge Avenue Knoxville, TN 37915. With funeral services to follow. Rev. Leroy Franklin officiating and Rev. William Riddle Eulogist. Interment at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, 3176 Airport Hwy, Alcoa, TN 37701. Final arrangements by Jarnigan and Son Mortuary.
