Obituary for Diane Elizabeth Downs Evans
Diane Elizabeth Downs Evans – age 71, of Knoxville, TN went to be with her lord and savior Jesus Christ on Friday, May 21, 2021.
She was a devoted mother, a licensed cosmetologist, certified CNA, community activist, Maynard Elementary PTA President, Mechanicville tenant President, Vista volunteer, Mechanicville Homecoming Director, Prison Minster, and Pastor of Holy Jerusalem Church of God for 20 yrs. Most of her life was spent tirelessly working for the betterment of others, but now she rests in God’s hands.
Diane was preceded in death by her Parents: Titus and Willie Mae Downs; Brothers: Titus Downs Jr. of Knoxville, TN and Harry Harold Downs o Augusta, Georgia. She is survived by her three children, Daughters: Deonna Evans of Knoxville, TN, Tonya Reese of Stone Mountain GA, and Sonya Elsberry of Knoxville TN; Grandchildren: Shaonna Littlejhon, Bria Evans, Christian Turman, Kenneth Reese, Grace Smith; Brother: Fredrick Downs and host of nieces and nephews.
Officiating Service: Rev. Jerry Upton. The viewing will begin at Honey Rock Victorious Church on Saturday May 29 th at 1pm and service will start at 2pm, followed by interment at Mount Olive Cemetery. Flowers can be sent to Jarnigan & Son Mortuary.
