Edna Pauline Ballinger was born April 27, 1946 and departed this life July 20, 2023 at home peacefully in Knoxville, TN.

She attended Walking by Faith and Precision Life Church. Edna was a loving spirit that enjoyed spending time with her family and taking care of her grandchildren. To know her was to love her. She touched everyone’s life she came in contact with. She had love for cooking and boy could she cook. She was a retired registered nurse, who had a love for God and her family.

Preceded in death by mother, Mamie Garret Allen, father, Steryl McCravy, grandmother, Merkie Garrett, grandparents, George Garrett and Jane and Hunter McCravy all of Morristown, TN, son, A.C. Eddins Jr., ex-husband, William Ballinger, granddaughters, Jac’Kiaya Bolden and Labronda Nance, sister, Catherine Snapp, brothers, Wilson and James McCravy.

She leaves to cherish her memories, very devoted daughter, Kimaya Ballinger LeClaire, son, Daniel Curtis (Stephanie) Ballinger, extended children whom she loved dearly, Rachiel Ballinger, Chiquata Burks, Brandon (Linda) Fanney, Venessa (Greg) Watterson Dalton, brothers, Richard “Cubby” Kyle and Charlie “Bobby” Kyle, sister, Dr. Janice Houston-Little, her partner, brother, and best friend who was always by her side, John Dallas Young, grandchildren, La’Chrisha, Chrishaya, A.C. Jr., Chance, Daniel Jr., Danika, Ali, Semone, Da’Maya, Dayonna, Danaya, Kiaya, Kavaya, Eunaye, Zariah, Robert, Joshua E., Shaf Curtis, Joshua A., Andre, and Martin, great grandchildren, Sa’Miya, A’Ciyah, Roasha, Jarrien, NiKiaya, and others, and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives to include special cousin, Mary Ruth Isom, Mary Davis, Jobie Porter, and Mary Helen Smith, devoted friends, Kay Coleman, Charlene Roberts, Greg Foust, Gwendoyln Stewart, Sarah Johnston, and Selena Hairston. 

Family will receive friends, 6:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, July 28, 2023 at

Antioch FBH Church, 2316 Linden Ave. 37917; funeral service, 7:00 p.m.,

Elder Franklin Brown, Officiating.

Interment, 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 29, 2023 at New Gray Cemetery.
