Eva H. Garner Wiggins Mapp, departed this life at home, June 11, 2021, at the age of 99.
She was a native of Vonore, Tennessee and a graduate of Austin High School, 1971.
She was employed for Knoxville City School’s Headstart Program for many years.
Lifetime member of the Knoxville and Knox County Parent Teacher Association, where she received several PTA awards.
Mrs. Mapp was an active member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where she served as an Usher, Sunday School Teacher, Mother’s Board, Pastor’s Aide, Hospitality Committee and the Pastor’s Anniversary Chairperson for many years.
Preceded in death by mother, Harriet Wallace, who passed away when Mrs. Mapp was 7 years old; father, Mack Henley; grandfather, Wallace; husband, William Mapp; sons, Sylvester and John Stanley Garner; sons-in-law, Robert Jones and Charles Byrd.
Left to cherish her memories: devoted children and caregivers, Darrell (Elizabeth) Garner, Wanda Garner Jones, Jerry (Lillie) Garner, Joyce Wiggins, Betty Wiggins Byrd, Rev. Perry D. (Lillie) Wiggins III, Dr. Eva Wiggins Young, and John Wesley Wiggins; over 100 grandchildren and great great, great, grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
