Obituary for Frances Christine Grissett
FRANCES CHRISTINE GRISSETT
Frances Christine Grissett – 66, formerly of Oak Ridge, TN, passed away peacefully, December 10, 2022 at her residence in Knoxville surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Knoxville to the late George C. Walker Jr. and Jannie Ruth Walker.
She was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
She was an active member of Spurgeon Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, a founding member of the Six times Sixty Social Group, an officer of NAPFE Local 316 Postal Workers Union, a past Chairperson of the Scarboro Alumni Association and a member of the Oak Ridge High School class of 1974.
She lived for a number of years in Germany and in the North Carolina cities of Hope Mills and Fayetteville where she attended Simon Temple A.M.E. Zion church.
She is survived by son, Dennis Tyrrel Walker, Sr.; sisters, Gail Walker, Laurie Blackman and Wendy Walker; brother, George Curtis Walker III; grandchildren, Kiyana, Dominique and Tyrrel Jr. (T.J.) Walker, Jordan and Kaylin; a host of nieces and nephews and extended family members of the Freeman-Wells and Walker Burris Families; devoted friends to include: Randy Stephens and Cynthia Manley.
The family will receive friends, 5:00- 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Spurgeon Chapel, 100 S. Benedict Ave., Oak Ridge, TN 37830; Military Honors, 6:00 p.m.; funeral service to follow, Rev. Erica N. Haigler, Officiating

This letter of condolence is presented in remembrance of memorial service for
Christie Frances Grisset held on the Twenty First day of October, Two Thousand and Twenty-Two. The members of the Nashville A-PLUS Chapter were deeply saddened to learn of her death. She was a standing member of the Nashville Chapter and supported the chapter. I could always count on her to assist me with any issue in the Knoxville area.
Please accept our heartfelt sympathy in your time of great sorrow. The loss
of a loved one can, be one of the most profound rites of passage in our lives. Only family can know the depths of your feelings. During the time of adjustment that lies ahead, please know that you are not alone. We send our love to give you strength to bear your sorrow.
