Obituary for Ghana Mautrice Hoskins
Ghana Mautrice Hoskins, born December 18, 1974, to mother, Rovenne Barnes and father, Milton Thomas of Chicago, Il, died October 1, 2021, in Knoxville, TN. He was favorably known as “MT.”
He was educated at Calumet High School, Chicago, Il and later pursued a career in autobody repair. Ghana was quite talented as an artist, poetry writer, wood worker and overall handyman. He moved to Tennessee to be near his only sibling, as he was a protector by nature, and family was important to him. He would literally give the coat off his back to someone in need.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Beverly and Romelia Hoskins; five aunts, Costella Williams, Agnes Dew, Susie McCulloh, Carolyn Hoskins, and Juanita Hoskins; three uncles, Tommy Hoskins, Beverly Hoskins, and Clevel Hoskins.
Ghana is survived by his loving parents; one sister Lovenne (Levelle) Lumpkin of Corryton, TN; one niece, Candis Lumpkin of TN; three nephews, Demetris, Levelle, Jr., and Daniel Lumpkin of TN; five children, Tiana Stelzer of MN; Ghasean Natrez Hoskins of MN; Jasper Jeremiah Jon Primeaux of MN; twins Jahbari Jaysean and Nairobi Denea Lashaye Hoskins of TN; ex-wife Larrissa Fulton of TN; two aunts, Ledonia (JB) Britton of Montgomery, AL; and Georgia (Ulsen) Anderson of Chicago, Il; and a host of cousins and friends.
Family will receive friends, 12:00 noon-1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Jarnigan & Son Mortuary 2823 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave.; funeral service, 1:00 p.m.
