Gwendolyn Lavon Sterling, born February 15, 1928, to the late Joseph Tate and the late Myrtle Daily. Gwen (Von as she was affectionately known) went to be with the Lord, May 24, 2022 at the age of 94.

She had been a faithful member of Rogers Memorial Baptist Church for 55 years.

Survivors, son-Hubert T. Sterling; stepdaughter-Gwendolyn (Chris) Sterling; grandson, Pless Sterling;; great grandchildren, Myron, Halo,, Aaron, Elon Sterling; Chiquita and Micheyla; grand daughter in law, Barbara Gadson of Atlanta Ga.; great-great grandchildren, Shamyra Sterling, Shanya Ragster, Milani Jackson; nieces, Benita (Kirk) Mudd, Cincinnati, OH, Frances Carter, Louisville, Ky, Mary Ruth Patterson, Nashville, TN.; dearest cousin, Fay, Della (Robert) Atkinson, Cincinnati, OH; and a host of relatives; special family friends, Mrs. Julie Armistead, Los Angeles, CA., Mary Ann Rhodes, Novella Miller and daughter, Rita, Flint Mi., Rev. and Mrs. Hugh Dixon, JoAnn Glenn, Jimmy Battle, Larry Thomas.
