Gertie,
I am at a loss for words. Not once did I think the hug and I love you’s we exchanged Monday the 25th would be our last. My heart is broken. There have been so many instances since I picked up the phone to call you for advice and guidance and remembered you were in heaven. I am grateful for all that you taught me and the moments we shared. It has been an immense struggle day to day to move in the strength God provides. I reflect on your emojis and listen to your voicemail messages often. Until we meet again, I will forever miss you!!!
Love always your eldest grandchild,
Tas

This woman of God right here was always a gracious presence during my years at Bethel AME Church. She was truly a Proverbs 31 and Titus Woman. She taught by example and was always full of Godly Wisdom. She was always encouraging and she gave the best hugs EVER! Our church mothers are transitioning but Mother Mims left a great road map for our “younger” mothers to follow. I will definitely miss her presence. Take your rest Mother Mims.
To the entire Mims Family, may the Peace of God continue to guide you throughout the coming weeks, months and even years as you adjust to your new “normal.” We are comforted by God’s Word that says “we don’t mourn like those who have no hope.” We continue to Trust God even when it hurts. Love you always.
Pam and Family, please accept this condolence from the Agape Dancers of Bethel AME Church under the direction of Malaika Guthrie. Mother Mims loved to see us dance. She would always say, “I don’t see how yau’ll do all that jumping. Whew, I would be tired.” She especially loved our skits. She was one of our biggest supporters. We will miss her presence. Thank you Mother Mims for your Agape love.
Donna,
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Your mom was such an extraordinary person. She had a gift for making everyone feel special which is how I felt when first meeting her during one her TTU visits to see you. Thank you for sharing her.
