Obituary for Joe Michael Sheadrick, Sr.


Joe Michael Sheadrick, Sr. was born July 12, 1960 to the late Jesse Cee and Annie Mae Sheadrick in Knoxville, TN. He went home to be with his Heavenly Father, July 20, 2022. Lovingly called Mickey, he was a man of integrity and love. He would give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it.
Joe was a faithful member of Antioch FBH Church until he relocated to Bristol, VA. He was one of the lead singers of the Twilight Gospel Singers of Knoxville for many years. They traveled up and down the highway praising our Lord thru song. He wrote and recorded “Light at the End of the Tunnel” and “Power of God” as well as singing lead and sometimes background on many other recordings.
He loved his wife Rita and never hesitated when telling anyone about his love for her. He also adored and loved his children, Dontarion, Joe Jr., Shauntae, Nicholas, and Marlena. They always came before anyone and anything.

Preceded in death by parents, Jesse Cee and Annie Mae Sheadrick; sister, Mary Brabson; brother, Willie Sheadrick, Sr.; son, Barry Washington; nephews, Willie Sheadrick, Jr., Brandon Perry, and Walter Pearson Jr.; brothers- in- law, Eugene Brown, Jesse Brabson, Sr., Sam Cutwright, and Walter Pearson, Sr.; sister- in- law, Glenda Sheadrick.

Left to cherish and keep his memory alive are wife, Rita; sons, Joe (Natosha) Sheadrick, Jr., Nicholas Sheadrick, and Dontarion (Juneice) Taylor; daughters, Shauntae (Lamone) Sheadrick and Marlena Taylor; brothers, Jesse (Maria) Sheadrick, Frank (Renetta) Sheadrick; sisters, Francis Brown, Minnie Cutwright, Mary Dailey, and Annie (Greg) Black); grandkids, Miracle, Damiyah, Isaiah, Dominique, Derek, and Brielle; a host of great-grandkids; sisters- in- law, Melanie (Victor) Burts, Debbie Pearson, Sarah Mae (Lynn) Brabson, and EllaMae Tabb; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends to include special friend, David Howell, Jr.

Family will receive friends, 2:00- 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Antioch FBH Church; funeral service, 3:00 p.m., Elder Franklin Brown, Eulogist.

Interment Mount Olive Cemetery.
