Obituary for Linda Fay (Black Gal) Puckett
Linda Faye “Black Gal” Puckett of Oak Ridge, passed away September 2, 2021 at home. Linda was born, May 21, 1954, formally of Clinton, TN.
Preceded in death by infant son, Darrly Puckett; grandson, JaQueaze Puckett; parents, Lee Otis and Lela Puckett and her birth mother, Alma Jean Steiger Littlejohn.
She was a dedicated member of The House of Worship in Oak Ridge, TN. Linda loved to cook and dress well. She had a flair for fashion even in her older years. I watched as Linda’s love for the Lord grew over the years. This was evident in her volunteer spirit.
Linda was always helping someone anyway possible. When I think of Linda this bible verse comes to mind; “For God is not unjust, He will not forget how hard you worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers.” She will be extremely missed.
She is survived by son, Jamar Davell Puckett Sr. (LaTasha King); grandson, Jamar Puckett, Jr. bonus granddaughters, Malaya and Makailah Howard; brother, Alonzo Hill, Flint, Michigan; sisters, Sheryl Turk, Janet Barton, and Willie Bell Mills, Nashville, Tennessee; devoted nieces, Aretha Turk and Keadedra Turk; a host of nieces and nephews, special life long friends, Janet Barton and Alvin, and a host of cousins to include the Roberts Family.
Family will receive friends, 5:30-6:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at House of Worship, 190 Manhattan Ave., Oak Ridge, TN 37830, Celebration of Life, 6:00 p.m., Bishop Anthony Collins, Officiating.

I am so sorry to hear of Ms. Linda’s passing. She was a very sweet lady and will be sadly missed. My heart is with yours Ms. Sheryl, Keadedra and Aretha. I will be keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.
I’m sorry I won’t be able to attend the services to celebrate Linda’s life.
I met Linda at the Senior Center, where we both worked.
Even though I only knew Linda a short time, I was heart broken at her passing. Linda was a sweet, giving person and we will all miss her terribly especially her quiet sense of humor.
I pray for God to be with all of you family and friends at this time.
Linda was a familiar and beloved member of the Anderson County Senior Center. Her kind and sweet presence will be missed for a long time. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and close friends at this difficult time.
Linda was a beloved neighbor and will be missed. She called me cousin because we had the same last name. I will remember her.
One of the sweetest ladies I have ever had the pleasure to meet. She will be missed and Oak Ridge will just never be the same. My prayers and thoughts go out to all family and friends.
