Obituary for Marilyn Anita Winsett Burke

Minister, Gospel singer, writer, and composer Marilyn Anita Winsett Burke was born October 15, 1938, and went to be with Jesus peacefully surrounded by family in her granddaughter’s home on Saturday, August 6, 2022. Marilyn is preceded in death by Father R.E. Winsett, Mother Ruth Winsett, Brother Harold Winsett, and Sister Naomi Raines. She is survived by her Daughter Karen Kerr Bussell, Granddaughter Ruth Ashton Bussell, Great grandsons Boston Bussell, Nicholas Bussell, and Amarie Johnson, Great granddaughter Maleeyah Bussell, Niece Rebecca Usher, Great nieces, and nephews. The family would like to express our extreme gratitude to Sue Gutherie for being a faithful friend, prayer warrior, and simply being there through some of Marilyn’s most difficult times. The funeral will be a private ceremony with only close family members present. We will be scattering her ashes at the beautiful Bluff in Dayton TN as were her wishes. Final arrangements by Jarnigan and Son Mortuary.
