Obituary for Mattie Louise Imes Tate
MATTIE LOUISE IMES TATE
Mattie Louise Imes Tate, came into human existence, February 10, 1927 in Charlotte, NC to the union of John and Leola Imes.
She moved to Knoxville and January 23, 1943, she married Clifford Tate, to this union, 16 children were born. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, and in 1980 became a Charter member of Canaan Baptist Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by parents; sister and brother-in-law, Edwin and Catherine Wynder; stepfather, Jasper Beard; daughter, Vickie Tate.
Memory to be cherished by husband of almost 80 years, Clifford Tate Sr.; children, Clifford Jr., William (Hye Suk), Carolyn, Ronald (Silvia), Gregory, Patricia (Julius) Doris, Gary (Cathy); Janet (Warren), Karen (Jesse), Anthony (Linda), Kevin, Steven (Mary), Angela, Sandra (Lion); 34 grandchildren, 79 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family will receive friends, 11:00-12:00 noon, Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at
Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2137 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave.; Homegoing Service, 12:00 noon, Rev. Vincent Jones Jr., Officiating, Rev. Dr. Harold Middlebrook, Eulogist.
