Obituary for Pastor Emeritus Willie Allen
ELDER WILLIE ALLEN
Pastor Emeritus Willie Allen, (SUNSET 9/30/2021) affectionately known in the Church of God in Christ as Superintendent WC Allen; born in Elberton, Georgia, February 27, 1932 to Harrison and Lula Allen. He pastored Smith Chapel COGIC (presently known as Refreshing Springs COGIC), Faith Temple COGIC in Morristown, TN, and Community Chapel COGIC in Rogersville, TN which he built and pastored. Elder Allen served as District Superintendent for the Knoxville District COGIC for 18 years, and as Administrative Assistant to the late Bishop James M. Scott, Sr.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roosevelt and Albert Allen; sisters, Bertha M. Harper, Bessie M. Davis, Corrine Allen, and son, Willie D. Allen.
Survived by loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Evelena Favors Allen; daughter, Sharon (Darryl) Dunbar, and son, Anthony Dailey; brother and sisters: Elder James (Lorene) Allen of Knoxville, Mildred Dupree of Decatur, GA and Margie Morrison and Frances Allen of Elberton, GA.; grandchildren, Anthonee McCallister, Antonio Dailey, Maya Dailey and Darrylaisha Dunbar; host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives to include, Senetra Weaver and family.
Public viewing at 10 a.m.- 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Jarnigan & Son Mortuary.
Family will receive friends, 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2021, at Children of God COGIC 309 Deaderick Ave.; Celebration of Life, 11:00 a.m., Rev. Derrick Washington, Presiding, Bishop Willie Bonner, Eulogist.
Interment East TennesseeVeteran’s Cemetery, E Governor John Sevier Hwy.
