Annette L. Bowman was born August 13, 1960 to Rev. Elijah Sr. and Audrey Bowman in the Happy Homes Community, before later moving to the Lyons View Community of Knoxville. Annette was the fifth oldest of nine siblings.
She accepted Christ at an early age and held a strong belief in God. Annette received her formal education at Bearden High School. Annette had a deep love for the mountains and was passionate about driving. She enjoyed listening to music while cruising through the scenic views. Anyone who knew Annette would describe her as a laid-back individual. She often greeted friends with the phrases, “Hey, girlfriend!” or “I love you to the moon and back!” Annette cherished her special relationships with everyone and loved her family dearly. She was known for her Southern hospitality and loved helping others.
A dedicated member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Annette held immense affection for her pastor and fellow church members.
Annette is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Elijah Sr. and Audrey Bowman; her grandparents: William Sr. and Linnie Bowman, and John Sr. and Minnie V. Adamson; aunts: Betty Adamson, Alma Allison, and Nellen Hall; uncles: Anderson, Luke, William, and David Bowman, and John Adamson; one brother, Kelvin Bowman; and three great-nephews: Brian Bowman, Jerry Graves, and Shiquezs Gray.
She leaves behind to mourn her passing her siblings Ronald T., Elijah Jr., Karen, Everette, Marvin, Belinda, and Jeffery Bowman, as well as her aunt Wilma Stacey and close cousins Wendy Stacey and Melinda Bowman, along with many others too numerous to name. Annette also leaves behind 16 nieces and nephews, a host of great-nieces and great-nephews, and numerous cousins from the Adamson, Hall, Brabson, Rucker, Griffin, Smith, Kelso, and Foster families. Additionally, she leaves behind her companion and friend of 30 years, James Foster.
Family will receive friends Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 12 to 1pm, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 2342 Louise Ave. Knoxville, TN 37915, with celebration of life services to follow. Rev. Dexter Mims officiating.
