Evelyn Major

Born to Josephine and Robert Johnson, in Sardis Mississippi, Evelyn Major is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Major; daughter, Phyllis Major; six sister, Cassie Ruth, Annie Lee, Ann, Katherine, Robbie Lee, and Elmira; and three brothers, Archie, James, and Robert.  

She is survived by son, Frederick; daughters, Lugenia and Cynthia; grandson, Timothy; and granddaughter, Nia; sisters, Rosetta and Ada; brothers, Oscar, Joe, and Ozell and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. 

A Graveside service will be held Friday April 11, 2025 at Union Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, 1729 Coulter Rd, Orangeburg, SC, 29118. 

Final arrangements entrusted to Jarnigan & Son Mortuary.
