Everett Gerod Strickland-King was born July, 10 1965 to the late Julius Sonny King and Thelma Strickland. Gerod Passed away peacefully at his home March 12, 2025. He was a proficient painter. Rod has left us a legacy of love and laughter that will sustain us as we journey down life's highway without him.


Everyone that crossed Rod's path was either his 'Bee Dee Bee's' or 'Uncle Rod's man'. Rod was always full of laughter. His love and laughter and his enduring love for his sons, family and friends will be truly missed and by anyone that Rod touched along the way.


Gerod was preceded in death by his parents Thelma Strickland and Julius Sonny King. Grandparents Ella Mae & Julius King, Nephew Jaqueaze Puckett and Uncle Wylie King.


He leaves to cherish his devoted memories to his sons Tony (Ashley) Jackson, Tyzeek Gerod Strickland and Tydarius Lucia. Step sons, Chance and Chase Jones. Grand children Dae'Lyn, Tony Jr. and A'Miracle. Devoted mother figure, Mama Jones as he called her, Aunt Shirley King and loving cousin Cecelia Murphy. Siblings Steven, Eric, Kelly (Willie) Wiggins, Kathy, Wendell (Trulett), Julie (Donald) Tharpe and Tasha King. A host of devoted nieces and nephews, cousins and friends, all of his 'BeeDeeBees' and 'Uncle Rod's men'. Ray Candy, you was loved by all and you will be missed.


The family will receive friends on Monday, March 24, 2025 from 10:00am to 11:00am with a service to immediately follow. Services will be held at Friendship Baptist Church, located at 1933 Texas Avenue, Knoxville, TN.
