Helen Waters

Waters, Helen Havella, age 90, of Knoxville, peacefully entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James K. Waters, Sr., children, Maurice, Fredrick and James K. Waters, Jr., grandchildren, Stephanie Waters Carvin and Herman Bailey, Jr., parents, Harry and Jessie Winston, brothers, Charles and Melvin Winston and sisters, Frankie Winston Shell and Selma Winston Barnett.

Helen is survived by her devoted children, Anthony and Melvin (Michele) Waters, Kimberly Bailey, and Woodrow (Viola) Wilson; daughters-in-law, Jacqueline and Marquetta Waters; 14 grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren; brothers, James and William Winston; a host of family and friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 8, 2025, 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m., with the Homegoing Service to follow at 1:00 p.m., at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 2504 Cecil Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37917, Elder Timothy Maddox, Sr., Pastor and Rev. Trailon Johnson, Eulogist.

The final resting place will be held at Sherwood Memorial Gardens immediately following the Homegoing Service. Arrangements by Jarnigan and Son Mortuary.
