Joseph Brooks-McKinney

Updated: Sep 2

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved son Joseph McKinney a devoted and loving father, son, brother and friend. He brought immense joy and laughter to us all.

Joseph affectionately known as Bread fought a long hard fight over the past 5 years but never put anything before making sure his son was taken care of. Joseph leaves to cherish his memories, son : Josiah McKinney, his parents Val and Shelton Woodruff, his son mother Carrie, his brothers Steven and Shelton, his sisters Jasmine, Destiny, Kezia, Dominque, Qunisha, Lamya and Jamila, his god brother Keyston and his father Milton McKinney and host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

As a father, Joesph was unparalleled. His son Josiah was the light of his life. He dedicated himself wholly to his happiness and well-being, always putting his needs before his own.

Joseph was not only a family man but also a true friend to many. His generosity and willingness to help others were evident in all aspects of his life. Whether it was a kind word, a helping hand, or simply his presence, Joseph helped make the world a better place.

Though he is no longer with us, Joseph’s legacy of love, kindness, and strength will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He leaves behind a void that can never be filled, but also a memory that will never fade.

The family acknowledges with sincere gratitude the numerous expressions of love, concern and sympathy shown during this difficult time. We shall always be grateful.
