It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Tina Marie Watkins Chalmers. Mrs. Chalmers passed away at home with her family at her side Sunday, November 3, 2024.
Tina was a devoted and loving daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 15, 1963 to Norman Watkins and Dorothy Chandler Watkins.
Tina is predeceased by her daughter, Michele Lannette Long; granddaughter, Danielle LaShae Murchison; grandmother, Nina Crisp Chandler; grandfather, Arthur Chandler; and aunt, Phinester Bailey.
She is survived by her daughters: Sekeita Link of South Boston, Virginia, Tanya Lashawn Murchison, Monique Renee Rogers (Brandon), and Eugenia Marable (all of Knoxville); mother, Dorothy Watkins of Columbia, South Carolina; father, Norman Watkins of Knoxville; sister, Nina Westrick (James) of Grand Rapids, Michigan; brothers, Tony Watkins of Knoxville and Ricki Watkins (Shenae) of Columbia; aunts, Edith Hubbard of Atlanta, Georgia and Berneice Haynes (Ronald) of Aberdeen, Missouri; uncle, Rev. Alfred Chandler (Lettie) of Scottsville, Virginia; 27 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Services will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Jarnigan & Son Mortuary. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until noon, with funeral to follow at 12:00pm. Reverend Alfred L. Chandler, officiating.
