Theo Thompkins Jr., of Knoxville TN, departed this life, November 13, 2021 at
Northshore Heights Assisted Living and Memory Care.
Theo Thompkins enjoyed working , doing yard work and most of all playing Bingo. Retired from Y-12 after 55 years and from DOE after 18 years and 10 years at Oak Ridge Methodist Medical Center.
His pride and joy was working at Faith Lutheran Church, Oak Ridge TN, where he was a part time Custodial and retired in 2019 after 68 years of service. Theo was a Chief Union Steward at Y-12 for many years. He was a faithful member of True Light Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee of the church.
Preceded in death by mother, Elizabeth Mae Cook; sons, David Thompkins, William ‘ “Buster” Chesney; daughter, Elaine Thompkins; brother, George C. Nalls.
He leaves to cherish his memories, devoted wife, Alma Thompkins, Knoxville;
sons, Howard Thompkins, Atlanta, GA, Newt Chesney, Knoxville; daughters, Loretha Walker, Knoxville, Patricia Harris, Knoxville; sister, Fannie Anthony, Dayton, OH; sister-in-law, Ameta Chesney, Knoxville; very special devoted granddaughter and Caregiver, Gail Chesney; grandson, David Chesney and great granddaughter, Trushae Ayers; host of grandchildren and great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and host of relatives and friends. A special thanks to the Northshore Heights Assisted Living team and Amedicis.
Family will receive friends, 2:00 – 3:00 p.m., Friday November 19,2021 at Faith Lutheran Church,1300 Oak Ridge Turnpike.
